# background

I've gone by a bunch of names and nicknames over the years, but professionally I go by Joonas. I've basically been cuddling up to computers my whole life, and I'd classify myself as some flavor of nerd. Anything to do with computers has interested me at some point, and video games were probably the original gateway drug. These days I don't really have much time for gaming anymore, but the "love" for computers stuck around, so I still end up tinkering with them regardless.

# career

As for my career, I started at the grassroots level, installing workstations and eventually servers at Fujitsu. I also happen to get along with people pretty well though, so my career ended up pivoting more toward the business side. These days I work as a Solution Engineer at WP SEO AI, and I'm also one of the founders of Joowa, though I'm not involved there day to day anymore. The truth is, though, that true tranquility is ultimately achieved in a dark room, hands on keyboard, staring at a screen. So I'd classify myself more as a "hybrid" than purely a businessman or a developer.

# the ai era

In the "age" of AI, I've self-diagnosed myself with some flavor of ADHD, probably like a lot of others with the same background, since I grew up in an era when a lot of things, especially on the software side, were pretty hard to get into and took serious work to reach. You had to study like crazy just to get "in" on coding, but these days the playing field has changed quite a bit.

# education

Back in the day I studied IT at Laurea (Bachelor's level), coding included, but somehow learning syntax and grinding through it was never something I had the patience for. Sure, I've been involved in various coding projects over the years, and I've always stayed on top of what good, efficient development looks like, I just gladly delegate the actual doing to other people.

I ramble about this and more at greater length on the blog, if you're at all interested in reading further.
